Project Overview
A key federal road upgrading project in Sarawak, Malaysia, constructed in strict accordance with JKR R5 federal road standards. Located in a tropical rainforest climate zone with high temperature, heavy rainfall and widespread soft subgrade, the project required the existing 2-lane road to be widened without disrupting main traffic, placing strict demands on equipment’s high-temperature stability, soft soil adaptability and paving precision.

Equipment Application & Core Advantages
To meet the 9m full-width single-pass requirement, 2 Dynapac REDLINE DRF25-80C pavers were deployed, fully complying with high-grade construction standards:
- Ultra-Width Paving Capacity: Max working width of 10m and theoretical output of 800t/h, enabling single-pass paving for 9m 2-lane sections, eliminating longitudinal joints and enhancing structural integrity.
- Harsh Environment Adaptability: Optimized cooling system for continuous operation at 45°C; DCEC Stage IV engine ensuring low maintenance and high reliability.
- Millimeter-Level Precision: Equipped with Moba GRADLINE 2 leveling system and 4-axis floating screed, delivering smoothness ≤0.35mm with excellent deformation resistance.
- Soft Subgrade Stability: 320mm wide split tracks and 17t large-capacity hopper provide superior traction and reduce downtime, ideal for soft ground conditions.
Construction Results
The two DRF25-80C pavers completed asphalt paving efficiently:
- Achieved 9m single-pass full-width paving with zero longitudinal joints.
- Passed JKR official acceptance with smoothness ≤0.35mm and compaction ≥98%, fully meeting R5 standards.
- Zero breakdowns during continuous high-temperature operation, boosting efficiency by 40% and earning high recognition from the client and JKR.
